“Michael Hall’s vintage work in Australia and France is a veritable who’s who of producers… His wines are as impressive as his experience suggests they should be.” James Halliday, Wine Companion.
Take Michael’s path as an itinerant winemaker through the grand traditions of Burgundy and the Rhone Valley to the new order of the Barossa Valley and the unfettered innovations of the Adelaide Hills.
Inspired by Michael’s real-life journey from Sotheby’s expert in the winter chill of Switzerland to emerging producer of acclaimed South Australian wines.
After stints with great Australian producers, including Giaconda in Beechworth, Coldstream Hills in the Yarra and Cullens in Margaret River, Michael travelled to Burgundy in 2005 to work for one of the greatest white producers of them all, Domaine Leflaive. This memorable experience led to a series of vintages in France with the renowned domaines of Méo-Camuzet, Vieux Télégraphe and Trévallon before settling in the Barossa.
Here the personalities of the wines and people are both alluring and compelling. The regional contrasts of the Barossa Valley, Eden Valley and Adelaide Hills act as a vantage point from which we view a panorama of wine expression and history.
Join us in our heritage listed stone barn in the heart of the Barossa Valley and taste the journey from Burgundy to the Barossa.
